Sign-up is open for the 2026 #ReadWithPride relay!
#ReadWithPride is a social media photo relay (running on Instagram this year) designed to celebrate and promote great young adult LGBTQIA+ literature during Pride Month. Every school day in June, on their designated day, participating schools from across the UK share a photo of a member/members of their school (staff, pupils, or both) with a favourite LGBTQIA+ fiction title for young people (using the #ReadWithPride hashtag) and tag the next school in the relay so that people can follow along.
Now in its fifth year, more than 70 schools nationwide have participated. Author Simon James Green said of the relay, “#ReadWithPride is always the highlight of my year on social media. Seeing all the participating schools celebrating LGBTQ+ titles sends a powerful message that these books are for everyone, that they are loved, that they are needed, and that building a kinder, fairer, happier world requires us all to stand together.”
To sign up for this year’s relay, please fill in this form by Friday 11 May. You will be asked to include any dates you could not post and a selection of young adult fiction titles you might like to feature; you will be allocated a title from your requested list so that we ensure a wider variety of books and authors are featured across the relay.
